Marnitz Steyn

I was born deaf and attended the Trans Oranje School for the Deaf in Pretoria where my talent for drawing was noticed. I find the Cape landscape a constant source of inspiration. Much of my work is an emotional response to the beauty that I see and feel around me and I enjoy interpreting the colours created as the light plays across the countryside. I do not have a preference for a specific media, but I do love the way the palette knife gives the finished work a fresh, spontaneous feel. My time is mostly occupied by commission work.
