Marlene von Durckheim (marlenevondurckheim)

Philosophy

?My primary inspiration is still-life in all its abstract complexity and multiplicity. My work is a process of meditation and growth. I meditate and study objects until I know them intimately. With this journey I become one with the object. This process of growth is brought about by the most important element in my work, Light. Light makes my paintings happen and gives them life. I search for harmony in my work so that the composition becomes an interaction of the elements of line, form, tone, texture and colour, giving the work a musical quality.?
