Sonja Margerison

Art has always been a part of my life. My inspiration comes from my Creator, the beauty of South Africa, and it's people. I am urged to capture an atmosphere on my canvases that radiates warmth, hope and light using a mixture of contempory and traditional methods. 'L'emotion en couleur', which is translated to 'emotions in colour', is a true description of my work. I work in acrylics and oils mostly, but I do explore and experiment with interesting mediums to create abstract work. Several of my works are represented in diaries, magazines, galleries and private collections both nationally and internationally. I hope that my paintings touch people's lives by portraying a sense of hope and peace. I also enjoy passing on my skills by facilitating artist retreats at a farm near Stilbaai. The retreat is currently called 'Runaway to Stilbaai'.
