BOTANICAL PORTRAITURE OF FLOWERS

I am interested in the organizing principles of nature, colour and language, and am inspired by traditional draughtsmanship. Small and rare flowers in particular fascinate me. Presenting them in a visually accessible, powerful form whilst accentuating their sculptural qualities and characters is my primary aim. Botanical accuracy is my secondary, no less important goal. The meditative benefits of flower study and painting have long been recognized by ancient high cultures.
