Juria le Roux

Juria le Roux was born in Zimbabwe in 1963. She lives and works on a farm near Kuilsrivier, Cape Town. She obtained a B.A. Creative Arts Degree in Jewellery Design and Manufacture at the University of Stellenbosch in 1986. She founded Amulet, a co-operative workshop with three members, in Cape Town, in 1987. She has held and taken part in solo and group jewellery and painting exhibitions since 1987; her most recent solo exhibition being 'Elegie' (US Art Gallery, Stellenbosch 2011) and 'Reeksmoord' (Absa KKNK, Oudtshoorn 2012) a collection of 50 portraits of murder victims in South Africa, a tribute and protest.
