Clay has given me the opportunity of expressing myself through a medium that is old, noble, forgiving and a joy to work with. It is always my aim to find balance between elements in design, texture and colour in all my works. I enjoy shaping decorative pieces and not focusing too much on function. Using elements like African symbols as decorative patterns inside a bowl or dish, elevates the function from practical, to symbolic and conversational.
